Italian Lessons

The main lessons are divided into three parts: Listen, Speak, and Conversation.

Then, in the Speak section, I'm asked to respond out loud. Jumpspeak uses speech recognition to check what I say and provides feedback, which gives me an opportunity to practice pronunciation instead of just reading the language.

I also like the practical situations used throughout the app. Learning phrases around things like travel, food, work, and everyday conversations makes the material feel more immediately useful.

The AI Chat is another useful feature because it gives me a way to practice conversations without needing another person available.

Limitations

There are a few things I think are worth considering.

First, Jumpspeak isn't really designed for people who want detailed, traditional grammar instruction. Grammar is mostly learned through exposure to sentences and conversations rather than through dedicated explanations of rules.

The Words section is useful, but there's also no traditional spaced-repetition system for systematically reviewing vocabulary.

Another limitation is that the app is heavily focused on speaking and listening. That's a strength if those are your priorities, but learners looking for more balanced reading and writing practice may want something else alongside it.

And because the experience relies heavily on AI conversations and speech recognition, the quality of the feedback can also depend on how well the app understands what you're saying.
